Danielle’s Journey
The Journey of
Danielle Tudor
Danielle was raped at age 17 by the infamous serial “Jogger Rapist,” Richard Gilmore, in 1979 in Oregon. She remained silent for several decades after it happened. When her perpetrator, who had admitted to at least nine other rapes, was up for parole in 2008, Danielle decided it was time to speak up. Since then, Danielle has worked tirelessly to change the statute of limitations laws throughout the country. She was appointed to the Portland Police Bureau and Oregon Governor’s Task Forces to track progress on testing the state’s backlog on rape kits. Now, Danielle is working with the Joyful Heart Foundation to continue her work in other states.
